Hi twivsters! I love the podcast! Always a highlight of my day when a new episode pops up.
Working in a virology lab, the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has been the center of conversation since it’s announced emergence in China.
This particular episode opened some new questions in regards to the history of pandemics particularly why an organization such as this has not yet been established, especially after the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic. It seems like there are non profits focused on vaccines and what I would refer to as orphan drugs but nothing that is anticipative of a possible emergence of new viruses. My question would be was there ever an organization such as this established after the Spanish flu pandemic?
