Headed into the ED after a morning of listening to TWIV Clinical updates. A perfect way to spend Xmas morning in my humble opinion-service to others over presents for me always on these holidays. Anyway, can’t tell you how many folks I have referred to your podcast (several science skeptics now true believers because of it). Thank you so much for all you do and Happy Holidays.
Have a mean question about people who have not been vaccinated who when they get COVID-19 demand the best care that a hospital can give them.
I have a friend who was in the / a hospital where he was on the second floor and he was there because he had surgery. On that floor were empty ICU beds while on the first floor were the ones in the hallway that had COVID-19. The hospital reason that those who needed the beds were the ones who were vaccinated and had surgery and they deserve the best care verse those who denied that the virus was real.
I guess it is like the army where you treat the ones that will live to those so badly wounded that any care would not work or those that can live without too much being done to them.
It seems that the most that will die are like my self over 65, but in my case I have the 3 jabs. Those others who exercises their American right not to be vaccinated should get their wish, let them die, save us who if infected have gotten the jab.
I know I’m mean.
Hi Dr. Griffin,
I’m an emergency physician and get a lot of questions from patients, friends and family about how to handle COVID and vaccines, Thanks to listening to TWIV regularly, I usually have the answer at the ready. I have one I am not sure about. I have an immune suppressed friend who was vaccinated x 2 with Pfizer/BioNTech in the spring of 2021, got a likely Delta variant infection that required hospitalization in September and then got infected again with likely Omicron variant infection in late December (no hospitalization needed for this one). She is asking whether she should obtain a booster or third dose when she is recovered and if so, when she should get it administered? She was still suffering some persistent symptoms of long covid prior to getting the Omicron infection. Thanks.
I have loved listening to TWiV for years but have really appreciated it during the pandemic. I went to my Vanguard donor advised charitable fund to give you some $$ but you are not yet known to them…so I need your EIN to send you some $$. Most NGOs post their EIN on their site….makes it easier….
