    Hi TWIV,

    The spike component of BA.4 and BA.5 is the same. The differences are outside the spike. So when FDA says BA.4/5 spike, they are both the same thing.
    Since BA.5 is the one that’s spreading, it would be less confusing for them to say the updated vax should be 50/50 Wildtype/BA.5
