    Hi TWiV team,
I know in Australia that we are not taking sufficient steps to control the spread of SARS-CoV-2. We are now in exponential growth with 568 cases and 6 deaths. The authorities are refusing to close schools even though we have had several schools with infections in them. After an infection is detected they will close a school for a day for cleaning and then reopen them again the next day. The government has suggested to limit gatherings, it is a limit of no more than 500 people, which I personally consider an insufficient measure. Considering the advanced warning that we have now had from multiple countries, we should be acting more proactively. Especially since in Australia this epidemic is going to coincide with our peak influenza season as we go into winter.

    Thanks for the great podcasts,
    Cheers,
    Cam

Here in the USA most of the State of Emergency responses and Shelter in place orders for COVID-19 have been issued by Cities and States. States have ordered school districts and colleges to move their classes online recently in the past week.

Love the whole show, but why don’t you upload the audio only podcasts to Youtube also? I listen to tons of audio only podcasts and lectures on Youtube on my Roku TV while working or going to sleep.

with 26 deaths/hour in Italy right now this does feel like the Spanish flu. I wonder how much worse a deadly pandemic flu strain could make it for some countries if it’s already this bad with the coronavirus
also, why do we keep having outbreaks of Ebola in Africa? I ask this in terms of herd immunity (of course health systems and a vaccine do help) but can we expect people in DRC to achieve herd immunity against Ebola in the near future?
    thank you
