Can hyperimmune globulin be produced from convalescent serum that would be given pre and post exposure in high risk cases ? Is there a fear of prions or an augmented immune reaction as occurred with Dengue Fever .
Hi TWIV!
I appreciate Dr. Griffin’s positivity, but I was surprised to hear him say that things are going well in the United States and that numbers are going down, without any indication that’s not the case everywhere. I wish he would have mentioned where it’s *not* going well in our country and discussed what that might mean for the future.
It seems like Michigan is still having a hard time (isn’t it?), and here in Oregon our COVID cases are up and 15 counties, including mine — which encompasses Portland — have been designated extreme risk and face new restrictions.
Is our governor overreacting (as many of her opponents would argue)? Am I wrong to believe that Oregon is in trouble right now and that the extreme risk designation actually means something?
To read the CDC’s list of “green light” activities, compare it to what Oregon is being told we can and can’t do, and then hear Dr. Griffin indicate worry about other countries but not the US leaves me feeling kind of dizzy and confused.
Any advice on dealing with a colleague of 25 years who believes in ivermectin and is discouraging vaccines even in the elderly?
