Racaniello and DA HendersonDonald “D.A.” Henderson, a physician, educator, and epidemiologist who led the World Health Organization’s campaign to eradicate smallpox, died at 87 years of age on Aug. 19, 2016. Vincent was fortunate to have the opportunity to speak with DA Henderson in 2014 about his career, the smallpox eradication effort, and what it means for the eradication of polio.

  2. Fascinating interview! I’ve heard stories of the eradication before, but there’s something special hearing straight from the horse’s mouth.

  3. Great Person. Without the effort of people like him, there would be a great number of people died of smallpox every year, especially in the developing and under-developed areas. Thanks to their effort, we can enjoy the medications in cell scale like the drugs for RT-112.
