Hi twivotopes,

There are viruses, right? Some infect bacteria (do we know of any beneficial viruses in bacteria?) and some us (eukarya). Why “bacteria phage”?

You are making the world a better place.

Thanks,

Pete, Sydney, Australia

Dear TWiVeners

Here too, cheap antigen tests are widely available from about $3.40.

Hello from Guatemala, land of eternal spring.

This is Marco, I’m a pediatrician and I’ve learned a lot from you guys.

Thanks for everything you do

I know Vincent has said that he thinks fully covid19 vaccinated people don’t shed viruses, can you explain why you think this way?

I’ve tried to find an answer but haven’t been able to do so.

Thanks again.

Also, I have no idea how to write a Haiku.

Is this ok:

              Beautiful today

              at the old jungle

Fun fun, type: “clinical trail” into pubmed’s search box. Be sure to include the double quotes…and carefully note the (mis)spelling of the word TRAIL!

And, in case you haven’t heard by far the world’s best geek joke:

A priest, an imam, and a rabbit walk to a blood bank.

The priest says, “I think I’m a type a.”
The imam says, “I think I’m a type b.”
The rabbit says, “I think I’m a type o.”

Your in deep seriosity,

‘Jeff

Dear Vincent and Twiv Team

Really loving your podcast and 18 months in, still engaged and gripped even though many technical details flow by. Finding it reassuring that you guys know things & also clear about what things you & we just don’t know – yet!

I’m sharing this great Radio Lento podcast – I have ME and LongCovid so can’t get out and about much, I have very low activity levels. These great sound recordings of nature help me get out into the fresh air, if only virtually!

Do dip in and have a listen: the most recent is sounds from a Marina and wonder if Daniel Griffin might enjoy a snatch on days when he can’t get out into the sea air!

There are also woodland, seaside and even roadside tracks & some are marked as sleep safe so you can put it on & not worry about a sudden noise.

I shouldn’t really say this but sometime I put TWiV on when I can’t sleep in the middle of the night and your banter and discussions both engage and soothe my brain & I do nod off.

Thank you so much & so great to learn about viruses, even though one or a mix of them has scuppered my life! Hoping one day soon there will be some research to make a difference.

Keep TWiV-ing!

Ruth
