Hi! Thanks as always for the great teaching! Did you guys see this preprint about an unadjuvanted spike protein nasal booster given to mice who had already had an mRNA vaccine? They got ‘robust protective mucosal immunity’. It seems like a wicked cool idea if it would work in people. https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2022.01.24.477597v1.full
Since there is no easy way to post comments on TWiM, I post this here: I think the last TWiM episode has made it accidentally into the TWiV feed. I don’t mind since I listen to all the podcasts anyway, but some people might be confused.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge every week, This has been immensely helpful and comforting during these times, My young child was treated for Kawasakis disease in April 2020 the diagnosis is now Kawaski’s versus MISC as our whole family were ill in February 2020 and we had a known exposure to COVID in that time period.
Our family were delighted when the vaccine became available to children and continue to be hopeful as evidence is emerging it may also reduce the incidence of MISC. It’s been difficult to get info about this condition.
I’m enjoying listening to older episodes too. Although I’m taking a break from nursing this info will be useful if I return.
