I am grateful for all ll you do.

    Amy is a great guest/addition.

About testing:. What about the packaging and waste? I’d love to hear Dickson and the team discuss medical and lab waste and what can be done to reduce it or use it in cogeneration power plants or ??? Where do all those gloves and dead mice and petri dishes wind up today?

  2. Really appreciated Amy’s skepticism in addition to Vincent’s grumpiness!

The link for the book Amy recommded didn’t work.

This is the one that did:
    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08743V4SF/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_9eOHFbM5ZD3N0

The kindle version was free (today at least).

Apparently NIH/NIAID has continued to progress on the AFM issue. Even though Corona takes all the spotlight, they support the vaccine development against this EVD68 AFM candidate based on the polio knowledge and Vero cell platform.

We don’t know if AFM continues to expand, but we proactively already work on potential vaccines. Did we learn from corona…..

It would seem appropriate here to mention 3 other wonderful books highly
recommended by Dr. Racaniello, all available through Amazon:

“The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks” by Rebecca Sloot, a New York Times best-seller.
    – A well-written and researched story of human interest as well as medical history

“Ahead of the Curve” by Shane Crotty, a biography of David Baltimore, Nobel laureate, [not to be confused with other books of the same name!]
    – A look into the life and studies of one of the most prominent researchers of our time

“Madness and Memory: the discovery of prions”, autobiography of Stanley Prusiner, Nobel laureate

    – With some knowledge of the subject area gained from Dr. Racaniello’s Columbia lecture series and other studies in cellular biology, to me this book read like a mystery novel, with its plot unfolding page after page in dramatic fashion. Dr. Pusiner’s fascinating history of his trials and tribulations, and his eventual triumph, is highly recommended reading for all of us “armchair virologists” who follow TWIV regularly.

  6. Please leave contact information for Dr. Amy R.

I’d like to follow her work, donate to twiv, and get an ‘Aoow my brain hurts’ T-Shirt.
