  1. Hello TWIV Team,

    First post for this lurker.
Read today the Wuhan novel coronavirus has now spread with cases in Japan and Thailand. The Japanese case involved a person who had traveled to Wuhan and had contact with someone who was sick but did not themselves go to the live markets. There wasn’t much info on the Thailand cases but the presumption is there was some connection with the Wuhan area. Hopefully the quarantine measures most countries have in place will stop the spread of this nCoV. Can you speak to the efforts to locate the host species and transmission mechanisms used by this virus?

As for the student who did not have published papers, my interpretation was they had a recent PhD and were seeking post doc opportunities. English is difficult for many non-native speakers and often those speakers bring grammatical and cultural aspects of their native language into their English.

I’ve been a long time listener and really enjoy your podcast I particularly appreciate your efforts to discuss topics in terms most laypersons can understand. The more everyone understands about microbes and viruses that can make us sick the better we all will be. And just maybe more people will stop listening to the anti-vaxers. Keep up the good work!

Dear Twiv we just got a new movie out on the CBC on how the Anti-Vax Movement became political.
