Hey,

Sorry if this is a misfire. I have a memory about a microbe that performs a sort of “alchemy” shifting subatomic particles… Iron, lead, and gold were mentioned in the discussion. I thought I had listened to this reference in the most recent episode of TWIM, but having just re-listened I’m lost and confused. Does any of this sound familiar? I’m starting to think I fell asleep listening to TWIM and dreamed it 😳

Cheers!

To all the wonderful hosts,

Thank you so much to all the hosts.  I really admire your deep knowledge, insights and enthusiasm about various aspects of microbiology.  I graduated from my PhD program many years ago and decided to choose a clinical path but my heart never left the research field.  Your shows, not only helped me to reignite my passion about microbiology, but more importantly, brought me up to speed on what is current in the field.  Science advances so quickly.  There is so much to learn out there and so little time.  It is so useful to have experienced mentors like yourselves to point us in the right direction, particularly selecting papers with good qualities to read and understand.  I am a pediatric dentist who deals with caries all day everyday.  It is disheartening to see little children suffering from this oral dysbiosis and I am only being reactive about it, ie. doing restorations. I hope there will be advances in oral microbiology soon that will allow us to be more proactive for the disease.  Your shows provided inspiration and hope that we will get there soon.  Thank you again and please keep up the good work. 🙂

Cheers,

P
